1970 Plymouth RoadRunner (1691)
SOLD!!!V code, 440 C.I./390 H.P. 3x2 carbs (six pack), number match engine. 4-speed pistol grip number match transmission, super track pak 410 Dana 60 rear, and N96 pop up air grabber hood. This is a real RM21V car. According to Galen Govier who placed this car in the Chrysler Registry there were only 651 70 RoadRunners, V code, 2 door coupes built; 429 4-speeds and 222 autos. Galen’s registry and decoding papers will go with the car. This ultra rare piece of automotive history is not a completely restored car. This baby shows 35,000 miles and showed 33,000 on the previous title 10 years ago. We can’t go back to the seventy’s to prove actual miles but we believe it. The interior is original, the paint had minor chips and was lacquer checked. The decision was made to strip her down to bare metal and painstakingly block sand, paint sand, clear, sand, over and over till it came out far, far better than the day it came off the assembly line in St. Louis Nov. 17, 1969. Laser straight diamond finish correct hi impact Lemond Twist exterior that has been buffed and polished to perfection. Black vinyl original bench seat with the world famous sinister looking pistol grip shifter sitting up nice and high for everyone to see. All riding on vintage Goodyear white letter polyglas GT bias ply tires mounted on Rally wheels with trim rings and center caps. Everything works on this baby. The original gauge cluster was taken out and painstakingly recalibrated, cleaned, polished, and checked for flaws. The tach and clock work perfect. Factory AM radio, hood mounted turn signals, back up lights, dash mounted reverse light, and so on, and on, and on, oh and the world famous beep beep horn. This is an investment quality collectors dream. Very, very few number match drivetrain super track pak 410 pistol grip air grabber hood cars are left and very, very few become available on the open market. Especially in hi impact Lemon twist and Galen Govier registry paperwork. The collector car market has proven to be a fierce fighter in a tough economy. The day after 911 the stock market crashed, the world was in turmoil, investments went down the toilet, but the collector car market stayed strong. Remember this only refers to the really, really, really nice ones. The same is happening now, the collector car market has had a slight adjustment, key word slight. Nothing like the stock market where only God knows how much money has been lost and the 401ks that are now 201ks. High caliber collector muscle cars will always be worth money.
