1964 Pontiac GTO (2060)
389CI/348HP 3x2 carbs (tri power), 4 speed manual transmission, safe-t-track posi rear, factory tach, working factory AM radio, power steering, factory vacumue gauge, tint glass, and extremely rare and valuable (64 only) 4 spoke wood sports steering wheel. All riding on vintage red line bias ply tires with a set of 64 spinner caps. Laser straight mirror finish extremely rare and correct A paint code starlight black exterior with beautiful correct medium red bucket seat console interior. This little tiger was born a real tri power 4 speed in sinister black and carries the PHS (Pontiac Historical Services) paperwork to prove it. Very very few real black tri power 4 speeds were built. Every book, magazine, auto enthusiast and aficionados consider the 64 GTO as the first true muscle car. When the 64 GTO hit the streets in late 63 word spread fast on the streets of Detroit. A small car with a big engine and a nice selection of high performance goodies could be bought right off the showroom floor. Overnight it started the muscle car wars that would last for about 8 years. It was a wild time that saw the automakers throw caution and safety to the wind and concentrate on speed, horsepower, bragging rights, and building some of the most radical and outrageous cars ever to come off a dealership showroom floor. When all the dust cleared around 1971 the party was over and the grand horsepower wars were all done. Anyway you look at it the 64 GTO will always be a very high collectible and desirable piece of automotive history. Go back in time to where it all began.
